Hammersmith Bridge Closure Likely to Be Lengthy

There are details of the accident this afternoon on the front page of this web site. There is some suggestion that a police car may have been involved and on Twitter there are a number of people saying there was a fatality. If either or both are true the Bridge and Castelnau are likely to be shut for a while yet and this evening's rush hour will be horrendous. Fingers crossed the Twitter rumours are spurious.

Relieved to read nobody was killed or very seriously hurt in this incident but given the circumstances the bridge closure may extend into rush hour because the police will want to be belt and braces on the investigation.
