Property Owned by Foreign Companies in Hammersmith

Private Eye have done a brilliant job in producing a searchable map which shows all the properties in England owned by foreign companies.http://www.private-eye.co.uk/registryYou can look at this house by house for Hammersmith. Although quite a lot of commercial and office property in the area does seem to be held by foreign companies, there are a relatively small amount of residential properties held this way. Of course this doesn't include foreign individuals buying property but the information provided by Private Eye doesn't seem to support the view that house prices are being driven up by 'buy to leave' foreign investors.

The number of foreign companies owning properties may have been much higher until recently but since 2015 there have been fairly punitive rates of stamp duty imposed on any foreign company buying residential property in the UK.
