I grew up around Shepherds Green in the 70s, in Woodstock Grove, it almost looked like what we used to call the bulldogs at the end of the road, where the BBC building was located and there were extensive building works, I think knocking down the old BBC building, or maybe just incorporating K West. I then began to wonder if this red brick building was Hammersmith & West London College and the other building the old Novotel building before it was rebuilt, located in Shortlands or even around Olympia, Sinclair Road backing onto the railway. These buildings look so familiar to me, but my instinct says it is around Colet Gardens and the Shortlands, looks like the old Novotel building, but the whole area has undergone a massive regeneration over the years, so after several hours researching I think I'm beat. I considered the other side of shepherds bush roundabout where they built Westfields, St Anns Villas/Freston Rd (North Kensington), Woodstock grove, where the old BBC building was (either end, photo 1 looked like slope end going up to Shepherds bush Green, advertising on side of house)Sinclair Rd, railway side, Russell Rd, where they rebuilt new homes, or Shortlands/Colet Gardens, which I believe to be the location, before building Colet Court? Anyway, interesting thread, thanks for sharing, will be interested if I jogged anyone's memory!
