Kings Mall in terminal decline?

I was just reading from the front page about how homeware store Wilko is taking some of the available space in Kings Mall. This seems to me to further increase the predominance of discount retailers in the store which runs the risk of making it even more of a depressing shopping experience than it is at present. Don’t get me wrong, I am as happy as anyone to pick up a bargain at Poundland or Primark but if our main shopping centre becomes somewhere you go to only when you have to rather than for the pleasure of browsing it may not be a good thing.

I would not class Wilko as a discount store.  In fact I am quite happy it is coming to Hammersmith,  and yes it is a store I will be very happy to browse in.  I do agree that there are more and more shops closing, and their sites seem to be being left empty.  However, the one thing I don't think we need any more of are coffee shops.
