Bus route in Blythe Road area

I live on Bythe Road and have just received a leaflet informing me of a meeting at Springvale Tenants Assocaiation Hall on Wednesday (11th May)at 7pm-8pm to disuss how it will be implemented. TFL and Chris Bainbridge Head of Transport for LBHF will be in attendance.This bus service proposal was fiercely opposed by the local community last time (about 10 years) which is why it never went ahead thenPlease try and attend to voice your disapproval. This is the first I have heard about it - we have only just started to get Olympias noisy polluting and dangerous traffic under control and this is a real slap in the face!!

What is the proposed route please?

As I understand it TfL has a target of having a bus route within a certain number of metres of every house in the capital. This has led to a proliferation of bus routes which don't serve journeys that significant numbers of people are likely to take and therefore tend to generally be empty. The 272 and 440 are two routes that come to mind in this regard. If this is the reason for the introduction of the service you are talking about, logical argument won't be able to counteract the need to meet a key performance indicator for TfL management.

I understand the meeting has been postponed. Many people actually want a bus service near them, helps cut down the need for cars, provides transport for those without cars, is seen as a good service.

I live on Blythe Rd in the 140s - no leaflet here yet. Will be at the meeting on Wednesday.Is is the same proposed route as 2006, from Shepherd's Bush Rd all the way to Hazlitt and back around the Olympia?
