Andy Slaugther Resigns from Shadow Cabinet

At some point he had become Shadow Justice Secretary without any of us noticing. Well no more because he resigned last night. The timing is quite interesting - he didn't leave with the main block of defectors. Is that because he was clinging on in the hope that Corbyn would survive but now realises the game is up? If so hasn't he just alienated both sides?

Andy Slaughter enjoys pretty solid support in the local constituency party and won't be facing a reselection challenge

Probably for most Labour MPs it is a balancing act between going into the next election with a chance of winning or risking a reselection battle if Momentum decide to make you one of the MPs to target. As the Hammersmith seat is quite marginal and Slaughter is 'sound' on Israel he probably feels he can risk supporting Owen Smith.

I just looked at his Facebook page and apparently he's now supporting Owen Smith. What is going on?
