Hammersmith Broadway gyratory cycle lanes

Glenthorne Rd will also become completely congested. It already has the massive St George building of new apartments to contend with, there are potential bus only lanes- where do this leave the motorist coming into town using this road from the A40?As a Brackenbury Village resident- it 'll make our attempts to leave the area almost impossible at rush hours- or any time. Why has this not been thought through?I'm a cyclist- but I don't even try to navigate the main Hammersmith roundabout- there are plenty of side roads and back roads which are safer.think again please

Exactly.  Extending the bus lanes from Glenthorne Rd to Beadon Rd should improve journey times for bus passengers.Also it is pointless just looking at one road feeding into the gyratory as increasing throughput of traffic from Glenthorne Road/Beadon Road into the gyratory would just have a knock-on effect elsewhere in the junction.  It would also make things worse for pedestrians as throughput could only be increased by reducing green time for pedestrians at the crossing to the Hammersmith & City line station.Hammersmith gyratory is horrendous for cycling but surely that makes it even more important to address it?  I don't see why it is acceptable for a junction to be so bad that people on bikes either walk around it or go on circuitous detours around back streets.The changes mean some disbenefits to other modes of transport but that is inevitable.  It is impossible to make meaningful changes with no impact and really it is just redressing the balance as the entire junction was designed with zero consideration for people on bikes in the first place.

Glenthorne Road already has bus lanes so I am not convinced extending them will add to congestion.And why would anyone travelling from the A40 into town use Glenthorne Road?
