H&F confirms re-design of TfL Cycleway 9

"....The A4 Cycle Highway will shuttle faster, more confident riders and commuters from the border with Chiswick to the Hammersmith gyratory."  This second cycle highway will, I hope, run along the pavement of the A4/Great West Road on both sides, not just one side.  Secondly, the A4 Cycle Highway must keep commuters away from the river including Upper Mall and Furnivall Gardens, especially the bottleneck in the "Dove Passageway", which has become a rats' run in the morning for the Lycra brigade.

Sorry but if this does happen I hope to goodness it is safer than the current cycle path.  A few weeks ago I was faced with one cyclist coming towards me on the pavement, obviously expecting me to get out of the way, so I sidestepped to then nearly be run down by a cyclist on the cycle path coming up behind me.  Obviously the one coming towards me could see they could not pass on the dedicated route!  And coming out of Furnivall Gardens to go down the subway again is an absolute nightmare.There needs to be a very clear distinction between the cyclists and pedestrians using these routes and pedestrians must be given priority.
