City Tree Aims To Be Breath of Fresh Air for Lyric Square

What is the power consumption of the "City Tree" and is it using only renewable electricity? Unless it is powered using electricity only from renewable or nuclear sources this machine (it has a pump, it is a machine) is creating carbon dioxide and particulate matter elsewhere.

Is this the brown, slatted structure?  If so thought this was for checking air quality???

What an ugly thing.... how much did it cost and who paid for it. Why couldn't they just plant some real trees instead.This is on a par with the so called "living wall" that was erected in Queen Caroline Street which now resembles s vertical window box full of dead and dying weeds, stop trying to fool us please.
