New Play about Theresa May at Riverside Studios: "Bloody Difficult Women" opens later this month

It is actually about Gina Miller and Theresa May.
The title is a gratuitous insult to these two very courageous and intelligent women  —  it is misogyny! If Riverside Studios changed it to: "Women vs male narcissist politicians"  I would view this more favourably.

You are correct. But context matters — Ken Clarke was a fellow Conservative. Theresa May was not being politically cautious.  Gina Miller was not party to that insult. Why should she be tarred with it?

I think I'm right in saying that the phrase is a reference to a comment made by Ken Clarke about Theresa May and that she was quite happy to acknowledge it was accurate.
