H&F Crime Summit –this Saturday 8th March 2008
Have your say on crime and policing in H&F! The borough'’s second Crime Summit is being held at Hammersmith Town Hall on Saturday 8th March 2008 from 9am to 2.30pm. The day will start with some short presentations from senior Police officers, focussing on the latest crime trend and strategies to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour. However, the most important part of the day will be ward-based workshops. Each of the 16 wards in Hammersmith & Fulham will have a breakout group – where you will be able to meet with your local Police officers, neighbours, ward Councillors –and be able to raise any issue of concern about crime and anti-social behaviour, no matter how big or small, and have someone there who is able to say what can be done about it and over what timescale.Cracking down on crime and anti-social behaviour is the top priority of H&F Council. The Council is already doing a great deal such as the 24/7 neighbourhood beat policing pilots in Fulham Broadway and Shepherd's Bush Green, £75 littering fines, a borough-wide controlled drinking area, targeting the worst anti-social neighbours in the borough, expanding CCTV coverage and increasing the scope of in-house estate and street wardens. But they also need the help of local people to feed in intelligence and report where problems are occurring so that they can tackle issues as soon as they arise. The Crime Summit is the perfect opportunity to pass on that information. No need to register - just turn up! See you there.Edward NoelChair, H&F Neighbourhood Watch Association
