Urgent Need for a Pedestrian Crossing on Larden Road

There is an urgent need for a Zebra or better still a Pelican Crossing  on the corner of Cobbold Road and Larden Road W12. I cross this road twice a day and have noticed a great  increase in traffic. There is almost a constant flow  during the morning and evening rush hours.  On has to wait for a break in the traffic or rely on the kindness of a driver to stop for you. Far too many vehicles (including the 272 bus) ignore the 20 mph speed limit and just race over the speed bumps, I can assure you! Wendell Park School is only a block east and several children (alone or with parents) cross this busy road every day. There is no Lollipop Lady/Man and  I often see them make a ‘Kamikaze like’ dash for the other side. When the 272 bus stops at this corner (and there is no official sign yet)  vehicles often shoot out, overtaking from the rear and I was almost knocked down yesterday.Is the council aware of this and if so, what will they do before there is a fatal accident?

If you are right it shows the total failure that speed bumps have been. All that they have done is meant that a lot of drivers speed up between the bumps and then brake hard. If everyone of them on this road was replaced with a zebra crossing it would be much safer and convenient for all.On the bright side the increase in traffic might be related to people trying to get round the temporary traffic lights outside Acton Town Hall.

I think on Paddenswick Road the problem is that the road is relatively wide. One of those 'your speed is' signs is probably the best solution here.The crossing on the Goldhawk Road is a nightmare both as a pedestrian and a driver. It should be moved further away from the junction but it looks like the bus stop is in the way.

....the crossing on Goldhawk Road, opposite the Pacific restaurant - nightmare !Cars travelling west along Goldhawk swing left to stay on Goldhawk Rd (rather than going straight on into Bath Road) at significant speed.  Pedestrians can't see the cars (nor the drivers see the pedestrians) until they have only about 10 or 20 yards to react and stop.It's scary.

Apparently there was an accident on this crossing on Friday evening.  Re the camera, I did a posting as a pole has appeared outside my flats opposite the Thatched House pub, I think this may be either for a speed camera or CCTV

.....can we have a speed camera and some Pelican Crossings on Paddenswick Road ?  Despite the efforts of the Council, drivers still speed up and down at quite a lick.They also seem to regard stopping at the existing zebra crossings as 'optional'.  The one outside the Thatched House is a particular hazard for pedestrians - an accident waiting to happen, IMHO.
