Most likely it is for the park's Green Flag Award. The GFA scheme is national and recognises parks or public open space meeting a number of quite demanding criteria. These include the likes of heritage, access, and community involvement, sustainability, biodiversity, community facilities [eg: events, play areas, sport, refreshments]. Green Flag parks are judged to be among the best in the country. The scheme is administered by Keep Britain Tidy. In 2009 Green Flags were awarded to Ravenscourt Pk, Frank Banfield Pk and the Magravine Cemetery.
