Scam ?

Approached yesterday by a young guy wearing a hearing aid and indicating he was deaf, he was stopping people and asking for his bus fare. I took the hard line and suggested he go round the corner to the police station if he was unable to get home. A couple of colleagues suggested it may be a scam - anyone else been approached by this guy ?

This was by the Starbucks on Hammersmith Road, most people did brush him off but he did manage to engage a few in a rather odd conversation, he didn't like it much when I told him to go round to the police station !
