I am Irish but I had a lovely St George's day as I do every year- celebrating it with a traditional English roast beef lunch, speeches and recitations from Shakespeare, in the company of 25 other like-minded people including Scots, Welsh, 3 other Irish people and a Sri Lankan.23rd April is the anniversary of the birth and the death of William Shakespeare. It is a pity that the English do not celebrate St George more. Maybe it was because he was a Turk or somesuch.Or maybe it is because his flag was highjacked by the Natioanl Front and the BNP who of course would not let St George into England if he were to turn up tomorrow.
