Your Health 2010 - Come and join in the fun Saturday 3 July

Making this summer your healthiest everA brand new NHS health and wellbeing festival is taking place in Hammersmith’s Lyric Square and Theatre on Saturday 3 July.Your Health 2010 is running from 10am to 4pm and will be a mix of fun and serious debate on local NHS issues. With free drop-in health checks, interactive exercise sessions, and fun entertainment for children, the festival will be a one-stop shop for practical advice and information about health and wellbeing.Find out how to eat your way to better health, have your teeth checked, and get expert fitness advice. You can also drop in anytime to speak to local doctors, nurses, and health visitors about the NHS services in your area.There will be information on how NHS money is spent and the big plans for improving local services. If you have ideas about how to improve NHS care, you’ll be able to take part in a series of special workshops.  Leaders of the local NHS will be also taking part in an open debate giving local people a chance to ask questions about any aspect of the NHS. The debate starts at 1pm in the Lyric Theatre and will be chaired by Lord Victor Abedowale.Sarah Whiting, Managing Director of NHS Hammersmith and Fulham, said: “The festival is all about having fun, getting quick and easy health advice, and telling us what you think about the NHS and how we could improve. “Health is such an important issue and it’s vital that we get it right. Our plans to improve health in the borough need to be built on the views of residents and local doctors.
