Sainsburys Local, Hammersmith

There is very frequent problem in the freezers in this store. Milk products, ice-creams and meat can be dangerous to health if they are not kept at the right temperature especially in summer. Be careful.

The manager is most definitely aware of it. You come out of the store in a sweat because it is so hot inside. I wonder how people work under such conditions. They say that things will be sorted when they close for refurbishment soon but this has been going on for a couple of weeks now. A health and safety problem for customers who consume their food and for their workers who work there. Surely you would not expect a company of Sainsburys stature to do this.

Did you point this out to the manager? It could be that the thermostat is not coping with the hot weather.

When you touch the milk cans or yoghurt they should feel very cold (like the fridge section in your home). The ice creams should be hard, very cold (like the freezer section of your fridge at home) and not going soft . If they feel to be near room temperature then it is not the right temperature.

Mark, In what way is there a problem with the freezers?  If they are not at the correct temperature how do you know this and how can I tell?
