Public Toilets

If you want to spend a penny for fifty pence, go to the public toilet in the Hammersmith Broadway Shopping Centre. London has lost so many public conveniences and those remaining generally charges for this facility. It is getting getting out of proportion. The alternative is to go to a pub or cafe and use their W.C. at of course the price of buying more liquid. As pensioners who need to go to the loo more often now, this 50p. charge is outragious. It is also a particularly high charge for parents with young children.

Totally agree - charging 50p is an outrage. Many people have problems where they cannot wait to go to the next loo (as said McDonalds).  This one is also down steep stairs so really difficult for many people.  It is a basic necessity and should not be charged for in the first place.

Always used to use MacDonalds on King Street if I or the kids got caught short. Nobody ever challenged me.

They should have attendants to keep them clean anyway. So silly that they've done away with public loos. They are a basic necessity.

Totally agree 50p is too much but guess it will at least weedle out (sorry!) those that genuinely need to go!  Presumably the only other alternative is to bring back onsite attendents.
