Does anyone care??? Advice please.

Despite the fact that many emails and telephone calls have been made to LBHF Council nothing has been done to help a 70 year old profoundly deaf lady out of her current situation! She lives in sheltered housing but her flat is FULL of MICE despite 5 visits from Pest Control. Her health is suffering and her mental state is causing us some concern. In recent weeks she has been bitten by either a mouse or a rat, (when she went to retrieve an item dropped on the floor) for which she received medical attention. She threw a nearly new bed out, bought another bed but can't sleep in it because of vermin. She tried to put slices of bread in the toaster but a mouse jumped out of it! She was quite sick after this episode. The poor lady even went to a local B&B one night as she cannot sleep in the flat. She spent a night on the sofa but still couldn't sleep.I have telephoned and written to LBHF but despite promises no-one called to reassess her obvious needs. They expected her to 'bid' for another flat despite her disability and the fact that she has no computer. Anyway now at last someone in the Housing Office made a bid for this lady but there is no guarantee that she will be allocated another flat.I have been promised that someone would be in touch but all to no avail! No-one is returning my calls. She spends the day outside as she can no longer bear to live in her flat. I wonder how the staff at LBHF can sleep in their nice cosy beds at night with not a care in the world! This elderly lady is just a friend and we do try to call on her each time she rings in distress (which is often I must admit). We are also pensioners and not social workers but it would seem that we are doing their work for them! The lady's GP and the Pest Control people said she should get out of there immediately but where to?If anyone can suggest where we go from here your advice would be most welcome, we are just trying to help this lady but getting nowhere fast.
