David Walliams Illness and the Thames Tunnel

David's epic attempt to swim the length of the Thames may fail because of sickness which is likely to have been brought on by swallowing water from the river. It'll be tragic if this happens but even more tragic if people don't recognise that this shows that our river remains chronically polluted and the Thames Tunnell is vital to make it safe.

It will truly be a shame if he does have to stop because of illness caused by pollution.  I walked across Hammersmith Bridge yesterday and was appalled at how much rubbish was floating in the Thanmes.  Mind you has it not been said that the Thames is the cleanest it has ever been......or have just made that up?
