Spin, spin, spin!!If you look closely at the figures quoted for the past two quarters and the last quarter of 2010, you will see that property prices are COMIMG DOWN!A director of Winkworth, Ed Mead, said something which rings true to me: "Far fewer people are opting to move home as the cost of moving has become prohibitive for many homeowners".If only this website was not receiving so much advertising from estate agents......

That's a bit unfair both because the item you refer to does actually say prices have fallen and it is not incorrect to say demand at the top end of the market was strong last Summer and early Autumn.Also the insinuation that the conclusion of the item is driven by a desire to please estate agents seems ill-informed. The agents I speak to are anxious to talk the market down because they believe talk of record levels discourages vendors accepting offers.A more valid criticism might be that the average price in a single post code area highly influenced by 10-12 transactions of the most expensive properties and rises and falls on a monthly basis might have more to do with timings of individual sales than the general direction of the market.
