Isn't it time the Lib Dems apologised for their support for the euro ?
Thank goodness the campaign to Keep the Pound led by William Hague when he was Leader of the Conservative Party won the support of the majority of the British people and persuaded Gordon Brown to force Tony Blair to keep us out of joining the euro.We are in a fine mess now thanks to 13 years of disasterous Labour misgovernment and financial and economic mismanagement but think of the even deeper mess we would have been if we had ditched the pound and adopted the euro ? We could be in the same or similar position as Greece, Portugal, Ireland, Italy or Spain. But throughout all this the Lib Dems have steadfastly advocated that the UK should join the euro and accept every other half- baked, crazy, economically illiterate ,undemocratic euroidea and euroscheme originating in euroland.Isn't it time the Lib Dems apologised to the British people ?
