Town Hall cont. 2
(Apologies for starting another thread on the Town Hall but for some reason I get 'Internal Error' when reply to exiting responses.)Listen to this:'The main reasons for ... objection are.... namely the height, design, impact on Furnivall Gardens, impact on the setting of the Grade II listed Town Hall and impact generally on views of the site and on that particularly beautiful and historic stretch of the river, the loss of the cinema and its replacement by a supermarket, loss of affordable housing with replacement only with luxury housing, dislocation of the blind residents, impact on views from the river. I can only endorse all of these objections.'If you'd been at the planning meeting you would have heard this, and much else, said by Cllr Lucy Ivimy, Conservative councillor for Ravenscourt Park ward, who bravely and very publicly stood against the proposal.Save Our Skyline has supporters from all over the borough and beyond, of all political parties and none. This Town Hall proposal has got something to offend everyone.
