Hammersmith's best curry house?

Any suggestions? I've been a bit disappointed with some of the ones I've tried recently. Not really impressed by the move towards 'gourmet style' that some local places have made to put up prices. Really just looking for something that does simple food well.

I don't agree with Graeme Proudfoot. The Rajput IS special - I'm going there for dinner in about an hour. Can't wait!!

I ate there last night and can't say I was that impressed. The service was good but the food was pretty average and the cleanliness as you go down to the toilets left a lot to be desired.My reccomendation would be Anarkali ?[sp] on King St, excellent food.

I would also put forward Rajput on Goldhawk Rd as the best in Hammersmith!

...on King Street near the Ravenscourt Road junction.  Just opened and absolutely excellent.  It makes a nice change to get a curry which is perfectly cooked, rather than an indistinct mush of meat and overcooked veg.  A number of interesting fish dishes too - I can thoroughly recommend the Fish Tikka.I won't be going anywhere else for curry for a while.....Andrew
