cookes pie & mash goldhawk road

Is it really worth saving this shop £4.00 for an old pie and lumpy mash...and no toilet facilities for customers,bring on the buldozer a.s.a.p

Does anyone remember the name of the eel and pie shop that was opposite the Gaumont (Apolo) Hammersmith and the Italian cafe a couple of shops along. I used to go to school (Sacred Heart) with the lad that lived their?

Hi Richard,I lived in the area some 45 years ago and was always in there as a kid when ever I was down the market of a Saturday..but we moved out of London to a new town for the "Better"..the town I now live in is great if you need a new house or need a holiday or some tat from a 99p shop because this is all my town consists of shop after shop..our police station is closed Sat, Sun and Mondays..the hospital consists of a couple of elastoplast.. and they did away with the market.Please listen to what the other posters have to say..because my old mate once it's gone it's gone and replaced with a row of shops that looks like they have been squeezed out of a tube.

Yeah, forget history. Forget local traders trying to make a living. If you don't like it, son, why not nip off to Maccy D's and leave other people to enjoy the things they do.

Yes, definitely. Independent traders are essential to give an are character and soul. You may not like the products served and be happier with a Nandos but the area in which you live will be worse if all the businesses there are run from somewhere else.
