I was interviwed. A series of questions were asked - 'If we told you (terrible thing is happening) would you be more likely to support the tunnel'? Examples were putting raw sewage in, hypodermic syringes, etc. Clearly, nobody is going to say 'no', but there was no facility to say it makes no difference, which would be the correct answer if you oppose it. The correct answer was to refuse to answer, which is what I did. Most people would innocently agree, hence the skewed findings, which is what the survey was designed to do.
