Is Andy Slaughter a public school boy?

I must confess to quite liking Michael Gove, mainly because his detractors are often so dreadful, but I wasn't impressed with the way he responded to Andy Slaughter's question relating to Sulivan School in the House of Commons this week. I thought Andy Slaughter went to Latymer when it was a grammar school rather than fee-paying.

There doesn't appear to be any definitive answer to this question. The only relevant statement that I could find is that this (left of centre) blogger for the Guardian says he has been assured that Andy Slaughter didn't pay fees for his education. I don't know what the exact status of Latymer was in the seventies when he was there but think it may have been a grammar school.
