In the report Dave Hill takes issue with the fact that the area will aspire to have more people in the area working than non-working. Doesn't seem to me to be a particularly objectionable aspiration. I can't imagine Dave Hill has ever lived in an area where the majority of the population is on benefits but, whatever you think of recent Channel 4 documentaries, they aren't likely to be pleasant places to live.Have to say my social injustice radar is not bleeping because someone who gets a social housing unit in a tower block where people are paying £400,000 for a flat is not allowed to use the pool.Overall this development seems set to deliver more affordable housing units overall. Quibbling that they will represent a lower percentage than elsewhere is ignoring the bigger picture.
