Families visiting Livat Hammersmith this October half term are being invited to take part in Mindful Monsters, a colourful, creative and non-scary Halloween experience running from 26 October to 1 November. The programme, designed for young children, combines storytelling, hands-on workshops and a centre-wide monster hunt, all taking place inside the Livat Atrium.
The event begins on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 October, when the author of Mindful Monsters will host free 30-minute storytelling sessions throughout the day. Children will be introduced to the friendly characters at the heart of the book before setting off on their own Halloween adventure around the centre. The sessions are bookable in advance and run from 11am to 4pm.
Alongside the storytelling, Livat will offer Monster-Making Workshops on the same dates and times. Young visitors can design and customise their own Halloween creature using eyes, teeth, horns, hair and other playful features, before naming their creation and taking it home. These workshops are also free but must be booked.
The half-term programme continues all week with The Great Mindful Monsters Monster Hunt, running from 26 October to 1 November with no booking required. Children can pick up a trail sheet in the atrium and search for nine hidden monsters displayed in retailer windows across Livat. Once the trail is complete, families can head to IKEA—the final stop—to collect a free copy of Mindful Monsters, while stocks last.
The centre describes the event as a gentle, imaginative alternative to traditional Halloween activities, offering a mix of creativity, exploration and storytelling designed specifically for younger children.
