Riverside Artists Group Celebrating its Fortieth Anniversary
Annual exhibition to take place at the POSK Gallery

Riverside Artists Group will mark its fortieth anniversary this autumn with RAG Annual 26, an exhibition of new work at the POSK Gallery in Hammersmith from 19 to 29 October. Founded at Riverside Studios in 1986, the group has grown into one of West London’s most enduring collectives of professional artists, bringing together painters, sculptors, printmakers and mixed-media practitioners who continue to exhibit nationally and internationally.
The anniversary show celebrates four decades of creative collaboration and community, presenting work by twenty-nine artists whose styles range from abstract and figurative painting to assemblage and sculpture. The exhibition also includes a specially commissioned film, Tracing the River, which tells the story of RAG’s beginnings at Riverside Studios and features rare footage from its earliest years.
Visitors will have the chance to meet the artists at a private view on 22 October, and the group will host informal artists’ talks in the gallery on Saturday 24 October from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. The exhibition has been designed and installed by members Diana Hara and Ales A. Sykes, creating a cohesive and lively presentation of contemporary work rooted in the group’s shared history.
The participating artists are Mike Abrahams, Susan Bazin, Lynne Peel, Peter Blegvad, G. Calvert, Jim Cox, Grazyna Czydlik, Emma Davis, Brian Deighton, Josie Deighton, Chloe Fremantle, Máire Gartland, Sarah Granville, David Hawkins, Tony Hill, Peter Jones, Ann Kopka, David Kirby, Kimm James Lawson, Marian Leven, Ursula Leven, Peter Moolan-Feroze, A. Sykes, Celia Toler, Jan Urbanski, Astrite Vula, Greta Wakil and Stephen Williams.
RAG Annual 26 continues the group’s tradition of accessible, community-based exhibitions. Entry is free, and artworks are available for purchase directly from the artists.
The show runs daily from 10am to 5pm at POSK Gallery, 238–246 King Street, Hammersmith, W6 0RF.
