Sports, films, wellness sessions and picnics in Lyric Square.
July 14, 2025
Hammersmith’s Summer Festival is continuing through July, offering weeks of sports, films, wellness sessions and picnics in Lyric Square.
The annual festival, run by Hammersmith BID, the independent business led company aiming to improve our town centre, is now in its 19th year.
In Lyric Square, the Big Screen and deckchairs are back, and though Wimbledon is over for another year, highlights from the Tour de France will be shown throughout the month.
There will also be free film nights starting at 6pm, including Wicked on 17 July, Bend It Like Beckham on 24 July, Inside Out 2 on 25 July and finally the ultimate summertime favourite, Mamma Mia on Wednesday 30 July.
Picnics in the Square begin this Monday, 14 July and will continue on Mondays and Wednesdays until August 6, with local people invited to grab their lunch from one of Hammersmith’s many eateries and join the crowds at the square’s picnic benches and deckchairs.
King Street shopping centre Livat has also joined the festival to offer Feel Good Tuesdays every Tuesday from midday till 2pm, with free wellness workshops at the. Livat Gazebo on Lyric Square.
On Tuesday 15 July, there are Breathwork Sessions and Sound Bath; while on 22 July, Somatic Trauma therapist and Coach Aliyah is offering a safe space to feel heard, inviting people to drop in for a chat to learn how Mind and Aliyah can help. They offer workshops and group coaching at Livat and can connect you with additional resources.
Finally on 29 July, there will be Yin Yoga Medicine and Breathwork sessions.
Nature lovers, meanwhile are invited to join Livat's free Community Gardening Workshops continuing on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the summer in Ashcroft Square, accessible via the stairs in the centre of the atrium.
The Community Garden, in collaboration with Groundwork Charity, is hosting a variety of engaging and eco-friendly workshops, which are free and open to everyone, from summer teas and learning to recognise and feed the local wildlife to general gardening. Find out more about these sessions at here.
Participants in a guided walk in Hammersmith
There are more opportunities to enjoy the open air with free monthly guided walks continuing through summer. On Saturday 2 August, walkers will have the chance to admire our ‘Suburban Belgravia’ with elegant houses, many famous residents and what was once ‘free love corner’! The walk will begin at 11 am outside Stamford Brook tube station.
Though these walks are free, places are limited so anyone wanting to take part must book a place in advance. Find out more and book your place here.
